The DSOEF will feature keynote presentations for all attendees, as well as three unique educational tracks. These educational tracks will include a “National DSO Track” with content geared towards large DSO’s with a national footprint; an “Emerging DSO Track” with content geared towards emerging DSO’s (3+ locations); and a “DSO Hygiene Track” with content geared towards DSO hygiene professionals and/or executives at DSO’s looking to enhance production and scalability within the hygiene department throughout your DSO.

Our 2017 event was held in February of ’17 at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, and sold out in 7 weeks. This event was specifically geared towards emerging DSO’s. Diana Nyad

At the age of 64, in her fifth and final attempt, Diana Nyad successfully fulfilled her lifelong dream of completing the 110-mile swim from Cuba to Florida on September 2, 2013. Upon completing her grueling 53-hour journey, a breathless Nyad told the world, “I have three messages. One is we should never ever give up. Two is you are never too old to chase your dreams. And three is it looks like a solitary sport, but it takes a team.” Nyad has never been one to quit. In July of 2010, at the age of 60, she began her “Xtreme Dream” quest of swimming from Cuba to Florida, a task she had failed to finish thirty years previously. When asked her motivation, she replied, “Because I’d like to prove to the other 60-year-olds that it is never too late to start your dreams.” Nyad was unsuccessful in her quest in 2010 and tried two more times 2011 and 2012 before completing the historic swim in 2013.
Back in the 1970’s, Nyad was the greatest long-distance swimmer in the world. Her world records, such as circling Manhattan Island and crossing the 102.5 miles between the Bahamas and Florida, have led to inductions to many Halls of Fame, such as the International Women’s Sports Hall of Fame.
Nyad became a prominent sports broadcaster, filing compelling reports for NPR, ABC’s Wide World of Sports, Fox Sports, and The New York Times. She has written three books and speaks French and Spanish fluently. Nyad has also earned the reputation of a uniquely passionate and entertaining public speaker, earning standing ovations with a broad spectrum of audiences.
In her 2015 memoir, Find a Way, Diana engages us with a unique, passionate story of this heroic adventure and the extraordinary life experiences that have served to carve her unwavering spirit. She recently debuted the one-woman show, Onward! The Diana Nyad Story, in Los Angeles and Key West. Directed and adapted by Joshua Ravetch, who helped shape Carrie Fisher’s show Wishful Drinking, Onward! has received praise among the theatre community.

Title: Maximizing the Value of Your Group or DSO You worked so hard for so long to build it, and now somebody wants to buy it. What’s their offer? And is that what they’re actually going to pay you in cash? How does their offer compare to others in the market? Are there other potential buyers? If so, where do you find them? Is this buyer the best fit for you and your business? Selling a business is an emotional roller coaster and a successful conclusion to the process is often built off of negotiating the finer points of “the deal.”

In this seminar we will walk you through all of the following:

Mark Costes

Dr. Mark Costes is far from a typical dentist and dental coach. During his career, he has been able to start or acquire over a dozen successful dental practices during some of the profession’s most challenging times. But Dr. Costes’s journey was not without its setbacks. In fact, he credits much of his success to the fact that he made more mistakes in his first year of private practice ownership than most dentists make in an entire career. What separated him from the masses, however, was the fact that he viewed each failure and roadblock as a learning experience and an opportunity to improve his business and life. This philosophy, as well as his decision to model the world’s most successful marketers and dentists, has led him to where he is today. Dr. Costes is founder of the Dental Success Institute, a company committed to helping dentists to achieve their full potential, while recapturing their passion for dentistry. He is also the founder of the Horizon Schools of Dental Assisting which has experienced explosive growth and has expanded to over one hundred and eighty locations throughout the United States. Dr. Costes is the International and #1 Amazon Best Selling Author of the book Pillars of Dental Success. His internet radio show, The Dentalpreneur Podcast now has listenership from over 130 countries worldwide. Mark and his wife Leslie have three sons; Bryce, Brendan, Brady and their dog Bear. From Boomers to Millennials: Overcoming Generational Differences in the Workplace

Never before have we lived in a time when there were so many different generations in the workplace at the same time. From Baby Boomers to Millennials, each generation has distinct expectations and characteristics that influence their communication, values and work ethics. Whether it is members of the dental team or patients, understanding these characteristics affects whether we are successful -- or not -- in our interactions.

Learning Objectives:

Maximizing Dental Practice Efficiency from the Front Desk to the Back Door

Even the most well-run dental practice runs into frustrating moments throughout the day when the hectic pace of day-to-day patient care creates disorganization and stress. When the right supplies are in the wrong place, or the equipment and instruments aren’t ready when they need to be, treatment doesn’t flow as quickly and smoothly as it should. Team and patients alike feel the strain.

Learning Objectives:
